Meet the River Run Animal Hospital Team

    Amanda LaMar
    Practice Manager

    Amanda has over 20 years of experience in the Veterinary field. Born and raised in Rhode Island, Amanda has an undergraduate degree in Veterinary medicine from the University of Rhode Island. Before coming to River Run, Amanda worked as the Lead Veterinary Technician in the Small Animal Clinic at the University of Florida. She has had the opportunity to work with world renowned Veterinarians and spent 16 yrs training the next generation of doctors. She has two senior pets at home, a handsome Rottie mix named George and a sassy Siamese cat named Mya. In her spare time Amanda loves to be with her family and has enjoyed exploring and getting to know North Carolina!

    Justin Farris
    Business Manager

    Born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama, Justin graduated with a business degree from Auburn University Montgomery.  Husband to Dr. Siggi Farris, the couple has two boys, Finn and Nils.   Justin loves dogs and grew up with Boston Terriers.  He currently has one Boston named Nyah, along with a cat named Forrest.  Justin enjoys all of the excitement found within the animal hospital... from the variety of puppies and kittens to the surgeries performed to save the lives of the pets... there is always something to see and learn from! In addition to overseeing the business side of things at RRAH, Justin is an avid car fan and owns a car dealership in Alabama. When not at RRAH, you can find Justin with his boys exploring the outdoors. Since moving to NC, he has discovered the numerous disc golf trails scattered throughout the area and has the goal of playing them all!

    Kathy Cleaver
    Lead CSR

    Born and raised in Maryland, Kathy has also spent time living in California and South Carolina before finally rooting herself in North Carolina.  Kathy has been a life-long pet owner and LOVER!  She lives with her husband and her menagerie of dogs, cats, and horses in Charlotte.

    Lauren Henry
    Second Lead CSR

    Lauren is a first-year Veterinary Technician student through Penn Foster College and works as a Vet Assistant at RRAH. She was born in Ohio and lived on a dairy farm for a few years before relocating to North Carolina. With her own furry friends at home including Jessie, her dog, and Mr. Pickles the cat, she understands the busy life of a pet parent. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, baking delicious desserts, and spending time with family and friends. Lauren has the drive to provide loving and compassionate care to our four-legged friends and their families.

    Stephanie West, LVT
    Lead Veterinary Technician

    Stephanie was born and raised in North Carolina. She started in the veterinary field at the young age of 15. Since then she has followed her passion, graduating from Tech school in 2010 then going to work at an Emergency Specialty Hospital. Stephanie has found her true home here at River Run Animal Hospital. Her fur and flipper and feather family currently consist of two dogs, six cats, one tortoise, one hamster, numerous chickens, and a gold fish pond.

    Paige Riley
    Veterinary Assistant

    Paige has worked in the veterinary field for five years. Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Paige relocated to North Carolina nine years ago.  She has two dogs (Chewie and Solo) and three cats (Isabelle, Anna, and Sir-Purrs-A-Lot). Paige loves animals of all kinds including snakes, hamsters, geckos, and even rats and mice.  Paige enjoys the outdoors and theater.

    Liliana Mercado
    Veterinarian Assistant

    Born in Medellin, Colombia, Liliana graduated from the University of Antioquia with a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, After graduation, Liliana oversaw a small mixed animal practice in Cartagena Colombia before moving to the United States in 2001.  Liliana has been working as an Emergency Veterinary  Technician for many years and has loved stepping onto the RRAH team. In her free time, Liliana enjoys the outdoors, hiking and road trips with her family.

    Veterinary Technician

    Born in raised in Gastonia, Amy grew up around dogs and when she went to Gaston College for school, realized they had recently launched a vet tech program which helped her decide to pursue her veterinary career. Amy loves using her passion for animals to help them live longer, healthier lives. In her free time, Amy loves spending time in her jeep, painting, gardening, traveling with her family & hanging out with her “fur babies (four dogs & three cats!). Amy has been married to her husband David, a National Guard Solider, for 27 years.

    Heather Beard
    Veterinary Technician

    Born and raised in Mooresville, NC, Heather earned her veterinary technician degree from Penn Foster online and has worked in the field since 2014. She’s grateful to have a career where she can advocate for sick pets and help them and loves getting to know patients and their families while helping pets live their best lives. When she’s not working, Heather enjoys tending to her houseplants, reading, hiking, camping & being outdoors. Heather has been married since May 2021 to Ricky and they have three dogs

    Nina UBILES
    Veterinary Assistant

    Originally from Fajardo, Puerto Rico, Nina currently resides in Charlotte, NC. A previous volunteer at Shining Hope Farms, Nina’s love for helping animals and helping people through them is what launched her into her veterinary career. When she’s not at work, Nina enjoys reading, watching TV & spending time with friends and family.

    Veterinary Assistant

    Born in Sacramento, CA and currently residing in Rock Hill, Mary is brand new to the veterinary field. While a novice to the industry, Mary has held a lifelong interest in veterinary medicine and was mesmerized by techs as a child. When not working, you can find Mary hiking, gaming, and training dogs. She loves spending time on her couch with her dog & cat — a beagle mix and a goofy tortishell kitty. As a chronic illness warrior herself, Mary is passionate about helping clients & patients feel better!

    Allie Wadsworth

    Allie has owned and loved animals her whole life and throughly believes “animals are better than people”! A mom to three kids, Allie jokes that her hobbies are “keeping them alive”. When she’s not working, you can find her seeking out a beach — any beach! Allie and her family have an Australian Shepherd named Shelby, a Boston/Pug mix named Moose & a pitbull puppy named Nova.
