Dr. Siggi Farris is the managing partner of River Run Animal Hospital. She grew up in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany. Dr. Farris was a Licensed Veterinary Technician in Germany and was planning on attending Munich University College of Veterinary Medicine. Plans changed after doing an internship at a small animal hospital in Alabama and meeting her husband Justin.
Dr. Farris graduated from Auburn University Montgomery with honors and then earned her DVM at the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine with summa cum laude. After graduation, she worked with Montgomery Veterinary Associates for 9 years before moving to Charlotte, NC to pursue her dream of opening her own Veterinary Hospital. While River Run Animal Hospital is being built, she worked as medical director of Piedmont Animal Emergency and also as ER veterinarian at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Charlotte.
Dr. Farris has always had compassion for animals and brought rescue animals home to her parents’ dismay. Therefore, pursuing a career in the veterinary field where she can care for hurt animals and help prevent health issues just seemed natural. She loves creating relationships with her patients and their parents, and helping them understand and manage acute and chronic disease processes. She has a passion for dogs and cats and wants to help people take their best care of their pets. Her special interests include Internal Medicine, Emergency/ Critical Care, Preventative Care, and Feline Friendly and Fear Free practice.
Dr. Farris and her husband live in Charlotte, NC with their two sons Finn and Nils. Their furry children include an energetic and lovable Boston Terrier named Nyah (2), and a elderly, much loved Mini Golden named Aslan (15). Their household is currently cat free after their senior cat Yeti passed away, but hopefully not for long. In their free time, the Farris Family likes to mountain bike, hike, downhill ski, enjoy the outdoors and spending time together.
Hey there! My name is Dr. Lawson Hardee. I graduated from Clemson University and obtained my DVM at Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. My passion for animals has been present since I was a child. Coming from a medical family background helped push me to care for the species that do not have a voice for themselves. I primarily care for canine and feline patients presently, but would eventually like to open a mixed animal practice of my own in my home town of Charleston, South Carolina.
Veterinary medicine has been a passion of mine since I learned to walk and talk. Animals have always been an integral part of my life and I have dedicated myself to caring for them in any way possible. I currently have 2 cats at home - Mordecai (6) and Stella (2). We are hoping to add a dog in the near future as well. I met my wonderful husband, Matthew, about 9 years ago and we are in our 2nd year of marriage. Matthew and I moved to Charlotte about two years ago to start our careers in physical therapy and veterinary medicine, respectively. We love spending time outdoors, whether it be the mountains or the ocean. We enjoy hiking, swimming, camping, and spending time with the wonderful friends we have met over the years.
I look forward to caring for your fur babies in a Fear Free environment at River Run Animal Hospital.
